Westkust walking network

Sandy paths lead you over high peaks and through deep hollows. The expanse of protected dunes creates a protective green ring around the seaside resorts. At 33 metres above sea level, the Hoge Blekker in Koks de is the highest dune of the Belgian Coast. Grazers keep the grass in nature reserve De Westhoek in De Panne short. The shrimp fi shermen on horseback have been recognised as world heritage by UNESCO. The listed Dumont Quarter in De Panne is a heritage gem. Nieuwpoort’s historic centre was reconstructed after the First World War. In nature reserve de  zermonding you can often spot seals.
