Vierkavenbos walking route

The Vierkavenbos trail takes us through a variety of landscapes. In the stream valleys created by the Passendale and Collievijver streams, we proceed along the Stroroute [Straw Route], a disused railway track. Situated in this green environment, we have the relatively young Vierkavenbos, a healthy complex of deciduous trees, hedging and pastureland where many bird species have set up home. Higher up, and closer to the centre of Moorslede, we enjoy the vast panoramic views of the region. We continue along a vineyard and discover which cyclist was the first to claim the title ‘Lion of Flanders’.
