Stij n Streuvels loved to head out from the Lijsternest in Ingooigem on long walks through the sunlit countryside between the Lys and the Scheldt. What he saw and experienced during his walks fed into his novels. Today, the walking network consists of paved paths and peaceful field tracks linking together the villages in the green area surrounding the Tiegemberg. We wander by traces of ancient woodlands, valleys with streams meandering through them, and historic sights. We enjoy fantastic panoramas, and rest our weary feet at friendly inns and cafes.
